The snare wire for a 14 Inches w.f. ludwig concert snare drum with 3 screw mounting has 16 strands, an overall length of 15 3/4 Inches, and a strand length of 14 7/8 Inches (including the soldered area on each end-plate). One end plate has a centered 3/16 Inches hole, while the other end plate has two 3/16 Inches holes spaced 1 Inch on center, all used to attach the snare wire unit to the strainer frame via 3 screws.
